Got into medicine in Italy in English

I figured out IMAT the hard way, so you don't have to

In 2024, I was in the same position as you are right now. I couldn't clear NEET (Indian Medical Entrance Exam) and hence decided to come to Italy due to low fees in public universities, regional scholarships, and an EU-recognised degree. Like you, the biggest obstacle I faced was finding the right resources, choosing a university as a non-EU student, navigating the complicated documentation process, and then scoring well in IMAT. I ended up scoring 77.9/90 and achieving Rank 1 for the University of Catania in IMAT 2024.

The day I boarded my flight to Italy, I made it my mission to help students get into Medicine in Italy. I started sharing what I learned about IMAT on YouTube from breaking down topics, demystifying the exam structure to walking through university applications step by step. A community of students going through the same journey started to grow, and it made me realise how many people were in the exact position I had been in.

IMAT Dojo is the home base for all of it — free study materials, documentation guides, and honest advice about what actually matters and what doesn't. And for students who want a more personal approach, there's long-term academic mentorship and documentation consultation for you as well.

Why students choose IMAT Dojo

Most students fail IMAT not because they lack potential, but because they never get a structured workflow, can't find the right subject-specific resources, and lose weeks of precious prep time drowning in complex documentation.

Udit works with a small, selected group of students every year for long-term personal mentorship — weekly sessions with personalised workflows, curated resources for every subject, weekly to-do lists, and personalised tests built from Italian resources, all tailored entirely to you.

Beyond preparation, our team takes care of every part of the documentation process: pre-enrolment, scholarship documentation, IMAT slot booking, DOV/CIMEA, and visa — so you can channelise your energy exclusively on what truly matters: clearing IMAT.

Frequently asked questions

IMAT stands for International Medical Admission Test. It allows you to enter Medicine & Surgery, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine in English at a public university in Italy.
All medical courses — Medicine & Surgery, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine — are Single-Cycle Master's Degree courses (one-block LM courses), meaning they combine a Bachelor's and Master's into one programme. The only requirement to enter these courses is 12 years of education or schooling.
The degree programmes are fully taught in English. You will need to learn Italian for daily life in Italy and to interact with patients from the third year, but all your lectures and exams will be in English.
Most students prepare for 6 months to 1 year depending on their background. Students with strong science foundations from school may need less time.
The exam is competitive because seats are limited and students from across the world apply. However, there are universities with higher seat counts that tend to have lower cutoffs every year. It is totally achievable with the right preparation.
